Many of you have asked me how much drinks cost on board? well as usual it is a bit like asking how long is a piece of string, measures are different, for instance draught beer is normally served in 500ml glasses and a 15% gratuity charge is then added, so the examples below compare prices on board to equivalent UK measures, using an exchange rate of $1.6 to £1:
Guinness is $5.95 for 500ml equivalent to £4.86 (£4.23+15%) per pint (500ml = 0.88 pt)
and guess what
Boddington is $5.25 for 440ml or £4.88 (£4.24+15%) per pint (440ml = 0.7743 pt)
Oh! and prices don’t seem to vary that much with ABV like they do in the UK
Spirits
Spirits Measures are served in U .S. Standard (1.5oz) measures i.e. nearly a UK double (1.7oz / 50ml) but a draught mixer of your choice is included in this price. so a Gordons G&T would be $6.75 £4.85 (£4.22+15%)
Finally that 15% gratuity charge is applied to all bar services.
